one of my Hr500s fails to communicate with the computer it goes through its normal 3 beep set up but when the computer is starting up it gets to LAN12 and locks up . if you turn off the scanner the computer continues to boot up. I have tried another computer and scsi lead but with the same outcome . anybody got any ideas ?

Hi Jim,

Here's a freebie. Almost assuredly a SCSI problem. Try removing your SCSI cards (from both the computer and the scanner), clean the edge connectors, and re-install. That should work.

Take care,

We've just purchased an HR-500, and lost the details on the card, which didn't come with it! NOwhere in the manual is there any reference as to what type of card.

Is there a specific model, or type of SCSI that anyone can direct me to for sale? Used is just fine.
